Estudio Guadiana collaborates with the UEM (Universidad Europea de Madrid) in the design of 7 new bridges around a 2.5Km lake in Dishuei, Pudong District, South of Shanghai, China. The structures will be over the 7 canals that cross the central park of the City of Lingang, a new city provided for more than 2 Million people that is nowadays under construction.
The interdisciplinary team is led by 5 professors of the UEM: Pedro Pablo Arroyo Alba, Francisco Domouso de Alba, José Luis Esteban Penelas, Lorenzo Fernández-Ordóñez and Fernando Porras-Isla-Fernández.
The design of the bridges have been already approved by the Pudong local Government. More than twenty architects, engineers and ·3D design experts compound the working team, all formed UEM students.
The main ideas of the project are the innovation between form and structure, with new techniques and materials, the use of the bridge as acting landmarks and the link between al 7 bridges integrating a coherent unique piece of infrastructure
